Russian girl crush: Vika Gazinskaya

Photobucket

She's a young Russian fashion designer, often seen in streetstyle blogs because of her amazing personal style. And to me, she definitely has the attitude.

I don't know why but it seems that I'm a little too drawn into this Russian clan. I have self-professed love for Miroslava, and next is Ulyana. For those who are not familiar with them yet, Miroslava Duma was an editor for Harper's Bazaar and now is a freelance writer for numerous publications such as OK Magazinee, Tatler, and Glamour. She also has a blog, that I love to stalk, called Buro 24/7. Moving on, Ulyana is the Fashion editor of Glamour Magazine Russia. She has a blog too here.

These are some of the best looks from Vika Gazinskaya Spring 2012 collection. I can't stop admiring the daring graphic hand painted effect huge necklaces.

Here are Miroslava and Hanneli wearing her collection at fashion week just recently.

Read more about her on tFS here, or view her website and the rest of her collection here. She looks so good in her own designs. I can't just get enough of her.

All of the while it was you

I bought this knit top from H&M last time. It was a pretty good deal, I believe it's less than 30 bucks. I was contemplating whether I'd ever wear it since the weather was sizzling hot here in Singapore. But now it seems that the wait is over. It's been raining a quite a lot lately and I had a chance to finally wear it. What I like about it is that it's actually cropped, but somehow oversized and slouchy.

My necklace is actually a headband by Ela Stone, it's a gift from Doorstep Luxury. And surprise, it's bronze gilded with 24 carat gold.

What I want: Proenza Schouler

This has been bothering me for the past few weeks, so I decided to share with you girls and boys, hoping that it will bother you too. So we can be bothered together.

Photobucket

To be exact, it's the Medium PS1 in Raspberry suede. This goes for US$1,595 which is equal to two pairs of basic Louboutin pumps.

Photobucket

And one more thing, PS11 classic textured-leather shoulder bag in black that is available here.

An evening with Ralph Lauren

Photobucket

This time, the designer along with Oprah hosted a charity gala. Oprah mentioned that it took her 25 years to get an interview with Mr. Lauren. The event, which included a re-staging of the label's Spring 2012 fashion show, benefited the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention in Harlem and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (to the tune of more than $7 million dollars).

Camilla Belle's dress caught my attention.

Photobucket

Her sparkling, black gown, with its gorgeous embellished train steals the limelight. To me it's one of her best red carpet attires.

Hanneli was Prabal Gurung's date of the night, looking gorgeous in the crimson gown with leather accents. And that's an Alexander Wang clutch she's carrying.

Ralph Lauren's best line came in response to Ms. Winfrey’s question, “How do you keep reinventing?”. “You copy,” he said. “Forty-five years of copying, that’s why I’m here.”

Photobucket

“He would tell you that the fabric of America defined his work,” Winfrey told the audience. “But as a matter of fact, he designed the fabric.”

Liu Wen for Numéro China

Photobucket

I love seeing Asian models go bare, very minimalistic makeup. It's like, we are all so worried about our Asian eyes, some perhaps will put a lot of makeup to create some sort of 'exaggerated' eyes look, so we appear prettier with more defined eyes. That's the belief we hold. See how Liu Wen is beautifully photographed in an au naturel hairstyle and makeup, especially her eyes. I don't think she's wearing any mascara and eyeliners here. Does she?

In Balenciaga, Givenchy and Louis Vuitton, Jil Sander, Lanvin, Mary Katrantzou and Erdem she left a wonderful designated trail on the October edition of Numéro China. Captivating Asian beauty.

Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2011 lookbook

Photobucket

Photobucket

You may know Ulyana from street style blogs, as she is often photographed with her iconic red lips at various fashion weeks and parties around the world. Honestly I didn’t even realise that she was a designer until I started browsing Russian blogs. I'm big on ball skirts, and these are so original and romantic. It has a strong vintage feel but the collection is 100% her, meaning, it's a balance of sexy and classy.

I’m obsessed! If there were a fairy tale princess from the 40s, these are what she's going to wear.

So here is my favorite skirt. On the right. It’s just so intensely perfect.

Photobucket

It's all so retro, bold, and crisp, but with this pervasive fairy tale touch and the slightest undertone of grittiness, it just totally make sense. I love Ulyana Sergeenko, she has presented one of the best debut collection I’ve ever seen. View the complete collection here. Trust me the more you see it, you'll always find new favorite pieces.

This is her, on the right, wearing her own design to The White Fairy Tale Love Ball.

Sunday inspiration: Swinging Classiques

I want to move to a European country and wear sweaters and coats already. The clothes here actually aren't my favourite, but the accessories are perfect. Hats and shoes, bags and shades are in perfect harmony. The photographs after all, are visually appealing.

Photobucket

Tweeds, velvets, wools, plaids, python prints, and autumnal tones. Seriously, autumn can't get any more beautiful than this.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I guess it's about time to carry sunflowers in a python bag.

Photobucket

I didn't know the low ponytail hairstyle can be so chic.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Even half of this is best thing I’ve seen for ages.
