Donna presented the most luxe tribal inspired dresses this season. Still modern, sleek and urban, these body hugging silhouettes are momentous.
My favorite pieces here are mostly skin-tight, with a touch of drapery, be it black, off-white and brown, or the colorful ones. Perhaps you may want to call it slinky.
From jersey dresses to heavily embellished gowns, this Haiti inspired collection made a very dramatic effect. It's like the oh-so-wild tribal theme has been beautifully disguised into very delicate, meaningful pieces.
I think this quote from her is greatly evident in this collection. “For me, starting each collection is always about what I really want, what I really need, and I was personally dying for sensual comfort. I think when you think of Donna Karan, you think of sensuality, but it's a different kind of sensuality. A kind of comfort sensuality that is one with your body and the way clothes feel (when they're) on.”
In case you haven't watched DKNY PR Girl revealed her true identity, I'd love to share this to you. It begins with, "When you work as a fashion publicist, everyday has to be a fashion moment." Watch Aliza Licht prep for Donna Karan‘s three shows during New York fashion week.
