February covers: The Fannings

My favorite sisters will be competing in the newsstands this February. Younger sis Elle Fanning covers Teen Vogue, while Dakota dons the front of Elle UK. Elle looks happy and cute, and gorgeous and fun, in teen vogue while there's something smoldering and sultry about Dakota in Elle UK.



Now let's start with Elle. I don't know whether I should pick a winner this time, wait. Maybe I should. But before that, let's look at each editorial spread inside.







Fashionista reported they also talk to Dakota, who readily admits that Elle has surpassed her older sister when it comes to fashion…

“She’s the go-to fashion person in the family,” Dakota readily admits. “Elle knows every single model, every single collection, every single piece from every single collection. She has a real passion, and it’s not at all in a materialistic way. She genuinely appreciates the workmanship and creativity. It’s funny, ’cause when you’re an older sister, you try to be the leader and example, and I’ve recently had to accept that we’re equals. The day has come when I actually need her help. I’ve had to admit that to myself and break down and be like, ‘Little sister, does this look good?’”





"Elle rocks a sleeveless red lace Miu Miu dress, also that Red Valentino number, paired with long, no-nonsense flowing locks, natural makeup, thick black lashes, and a cute-to-boot smile." Best shot: her carrying the letter "L". Now are you ready for Dakota?





Wearing a lace-collared Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2012 dress, she keeps doing the 'fashionably bored' pose. However, I'm loving her deep-parted curled bob and crimson red matte lip.





I think the last photograph above is her best shot. Okay time to choose a winner. As much as I adore Elle, I'll have to go with Dakota this time. I can't get enough of her all-grown-up look, very refreshing to see. Her killer expression too, and those red lips, so daring. Remember when they both were still below ten?
