The day I met Charlotte Olympia Dellal

Photobucket

The ultra-glamorous shoe designer was finally here in Singapore yesterday. The event was major. There were so many gorgeous women of all age, tottering around the new On Pedder store at Scotts square in towering heels. Okay, maybe the store was a little too packed. Anyway, the moment I saw Charlotte, I was so stunned. She is extremely gorgeous and tall and elegant and charming in person.

Photobucket

So I went to try on their shoes which was sold out the last few weeks. I tried the pumps called Paloma, which was my favorite design. And then I found out that they were way too big on me. Their smallest size is 35. So you girls who have small feet may not be able to wear the normal pumps. Instead, opt for pumps, sandals or wedges which has ankle straps.

Charlotte, who always chooses her shoes before her outfit everyday, is known for her quirky statement sandals and boots, infused with the glamour of the 1940s. Shoes pictured above are taken from Wottoncool and Like I Give A Frock Instagram.

P.S. Dear Charlotte, please consider making shoes size 34 and 34.5, one day, soon.

This show presents the highest form of ethereal glamour. Undeniably the strongest collection that gives a romantic, divine intervention.

Double take

Photobucket

We headed to Privé at Keppel Bay sometime last week to help out my dear girl, Karina of Faboosh Baboosh with her school project. This is how it turned out. Everything was spontaneous and we weren't really plan a concept or anything. But it was fun. I love my girls.

Photobucket

I was wearing the Alexander Wang cardi I got from The Outnet clearance and paired it with Ksubi denim shorts. Anyway, this is the hair color I no longer have. I think it got too bright since the last time I got it colored. I had another treat at Salon Vim that day to get it darken. Can't wait to show you girls how it looks like now. One last thing, in case you haven't been, it's great to make a trip down to Privé to chill be it in the afternoon or at night. Such a nice place, with a different vibe from whatever we see in Orchard.

Charlotte Olympia: On Pedder Exclusives

On Pedder is going to invite British shoe designer Charlotte Dellal to Singapore to showcase her Spring Sumer 2012 collection and meet with fans of her cult accessories label on Thursday next week and I'm so incredibly excited for this. I can't wait to get my hands on the shoes, although I haven't really decided between the Dolly or Paloma.

Photobucket

Her personal appearance at On Pedder will mark Dellal’s first visit to Asia and first major public appearance since her big win at the 2011 British Fashion Awards. To commemorate this special occasion, Dellal has also selected four worldwide exclusive variations of “The Dolly” for On Pedder. The popular shoe is re-visited in four fabrications including black suede (SGD1950) adorned with Swarovski crystals platform, and the nude suede (SGD1280) below.

Weekend shopping: White jackets

This week I'm featuring looks trending from Spring 2012, which is the white jacket. These two are from 3.1 philip lim (SGD2,430) and Dries van Noten (SGD1,660), both available for purchase in store in Singapore.

Photobucket

At the Paris and Milan runway shows, designers are proposing the white jacket as a stylish summer option for cool formal wear. Masculine and oversized at Haider Ackermann and Stella McCartney. Boxy and structured at Balenciaga and Dries Van Noten. Shrunken and pert at Carven and Jil Sander. And softly tailored (flowing into a dress) at Lanvin.

First reveal: Marni at H&M

Finally they are here! The funny thing is that I bought all of these separately. I got Sarah of Wottoncool help me to buy the necklace, because I wasn't sure what else I'd like to get that day. So the evening of the launch day, I managed to go in and score the bodysuit. The next day I went on ebay and found the bracelet selling at a very reasonable price.

It's funny how I didn't expect to get these three particular items. I was so sure I wanted to get the skirt, see my post here. But then, it's the appeal of Marni that can't make me settle just for one item. Besides, the skirt was too big on me and perhaps need a major altering. Best part of the purchase is that the packaging was so adorable. Clearly, Marni at H&M was like a match made in heaven. So what do you think? Also tell me about your purchases, I'll be excited to hear.

Céline Fall 2012: Still sporty

Photobucket

The fact that Phoebe Philo is eight months pregnant with her third child and has just cancelled Fall 2012 runway show did not mean she didn't shine. The collection which was shown only to a small number of attendees was intimate and deep. According to Fashionista, it got Anna wonder if all fashion shows can be like that.

I'm still waiting for the day when I can finally wear a bordeux leather jacket and hot pink trousers looking oh-so-sophisticated.

Photobucket

It was so luxurious and minimalistic, very Céline, very chic. I kind of spot a trend on footwear, which is the cap-toe pumps. Louis Vuitton did it for Spring 2012, Sergio Rossi did a neon version, and Christian Louboutin did the sexiest transparent version.

H&M Glamour: Spring 2012 Conscious Collection

Photobucket

What a surprise! I couldn't wait to share this to you. After the madness during Marni at H&M, after the money spent getting stuff for the sake of buying, some unpractical stuff you bought e.g. the thick leather top, the thick polka dot coat, or the baroque pants, the sequin collar, or the swimsuit (yes, I'm guilty as charged) I have to say this so called 'H&M Glamour' collection could be a lot more worth it. Oh look at these two gorgeous gowns.

"To celebrate the rise of glamour, H&M has created the Exclusive Conscious collection of red-carpet looks that have all been made from more sustainable materials like organic cotton and hemp, and recycled polyester, as part of H&M’s Conscious initiative. The glamourous collection shows the diversity of what has become possible with greener fashion, with each outfit an individual style that stands on its own, to reflect the scope of red carpet fashion today."

Celebs like Kristin Davis, Amanda Seyfried and Oscar nominee Viola Davis have even worn these looks on the red carpet. Amanda wore the blue tuxedo blazer and shorts at a London premiere, while Oscar nominee Viola Davis has been seen in the hot-pink sleeveless top and skirt.

Michelle Williams wore an H&M custom-made gold-draped organic cotton bodice with a satin-backed crepe trumpet skirt at this year’s BAFTAs in London. A top and skirt inspired by Michelle’s exclusive gown will be available in selected H&M stores when the Exclusive Conscious collection is launched.

The collection will be available from April 12 in around 100 stores H&M worldwide, as well as selected looks on-line. No words on the prices yet, but will surely keep you girls updated. Meanwhile, let's admire the looks.
