Shop: See by Chloé

See by Chloé are always ahead of the pack when it comes to creating easy, breezy ready-to-wear items that look good on women of all ages – including of course identifiable Chloé dresses. This season is all about more modern twist, with bright splashes of butterflies on a stark white dress.

  Photobucket

The 2012 collection has floor length maxi-skirts, loose-fitting cotton trousers and pleat skirts that hang off the hips combined with structured pieces on top like white patterned t-shirts and cropped jackets with sharp lines. Block colour makes a come-back, with elegant white and black dresses that are made for the Mediterranean sun. We somehow couldn't get enough of the light yet durable fabric, and it seems that this is due for a remix by Chloé.

Here's my latest treasure from ALDO, since maybe a couple years ago. I was extremely pleased with the quality of this shoes, the stitching and the leather finishing. Maybe you should get one too. They're also available in black and stripes (with some bonus feathers behind) online for USD 227. Checkout the range by Mark Fast as well which is equally gorgeous.

Stylenanda

Photobucket

I discovered this Korean online shopping site today and have been obsessing over it ever since. I have yet to buy something from the NastyGal-esque store. Everything on their site is super stylish and gorgeous, but I can't really judge the quality of the garments. The styling and the shoot are not the typical girly, cutesy Korean teen girl style. Instead, I found them very Teen Vogue Korea, and everything is visually appealing.

I have a major crush on Park Sora, one of the models. She's extremely beautiful and after stalking her photos on Stylenanda Tumblr, I think I'm keeping my hair color light brown like what I have now, instead of changing it darker.

Shop: Givenchy Iris Tee

Photobucket

Rihanna was seen in it last week, and then Liv Tyler not long after. I prefer how it looks on Liv though, very versatile paired with a black blazer and a black simple skirt.

You can get the tee here for USD455. Images from Tumblr.

Acne: Jade cable knit sweater

Photobucket

Definitely this season's must have crop cable knit chunky sweater, I would say. I think I've seen it on Hanne Gabby and a couple of other street style stars, and have a look at this by Tamu McPherson.

Photobucket

Apparently it's out of stock at my-wardrobe. I can't find it anywhere else online.

Christian Louboutin: Les 20 Ans

Photobucket

Here's Neuron, re-released as part of Louboutin's 20th anniversary capsule collection. The special edition Neuron makes a statement with its 120mm heel instead of the old 100mm. His U.S. e-commerce site promises you will "feel the Louboutin energy channeling through your veins."

The crystal studded is available at Net-a-porter for USD3,995. But don't worry, they're also available in crimson and mint green (turquoise) suede, without crystals, for a good USD2,300 less.

Freja Beha: Tattoos

Photobucket

With 14 tattoos and counting, Freja still keeps me curious of what she's gonna ink next. Always subtle, sexy chic. Read more about it here.

Photobucket

All I know is that the fashion industry misses her. She totally needs to have a strong comeback after her little break. I can't wait. Yes, keep 'floating'.

Interview with Corto Moltedo

Corto Moltedo is the latest Italian luxury accessories obsession, seen in almost every street style stars' hands during fashion week. I got a chance to interview the designer, Gabrielecorto Moltedo, whom carries design and style in his veins as the son of Laura and Vittorio Moltedo, founders of Bottega Veneta.

Photobucket

Pictured above: Ninetta Python Rainstorm

"Moltedo’s self-proclaimed “pop-luxe chic” aesthetic is a world away from the classic woven leather pieces associated with his parents’ classic brand, but the label prides itself on the same commitment to craftsmanship.” – NOWNESS

In likes of Anna Dello Russo, Anya Ziourova, Eleonora Carisi and many more, Corto is certainly this year's must have. And here is a glimpse of Gabrielecorto's universe of fashion.

Photobucket

Silvia Siantar: When you come out with collections season after season, is there a specific woman you design for, or does she evolve with every collection?

Gabrielecorto Moltedo: My creations start as practical objects, it is the way and the places that they are used that define them. But I can say that the Corto woman is sophisticated, elegant and original; like my creations. Sometimes I design for Mom, sometimes I design for friends.

Who is your ultimate design muse and what would you design for him or her?

GM: My Muses are Alicia Rountree and Bianca Jagger.

What is your favorite piece of the collection so far and it's strongest elements?

GM: My favorites are always changing. My favorite today , is the “Susan Cork” (pictured below) as it is made out of cork material with a gold sheen coming from inside the material.

Photobucket

I love the juxtaposition of the two. But I always love my "Priscilla" bag, the tote that folds over and turns into a shoulder bag , easy and effortless. It's hard to choose a favorite design as they all come from edit after edit, and in my eyes are the best of what I have to offer.

As your designs are popular within the street style community, with the help of the internet you can reach a very wide audience worldwide. How important is bloggers and the social media to you?

Photobucket

GM: Since I’m not doing any institutional advertising, my marketing and communication strategies have been based on word of mouth, bloggers and social media are fundamental to me. I think that nowadays, no brand could possibly let apart the web aspect of communication.

Photobucket

Furthermore I’m very lucky because I have a great relation with bloggers, big international blogs such as Bryan boy, The Blonde Salad or Garance Doré have been supporting me. But what I love most is being in contact with local bloggers when I travel for my private previews arotnd the world.

Photobucket

What is the most valuable fashion advice you have ever received?

GM: Seek your own style, be independent and stay chic.

Photobucket

What are your fashion rules to live by?

GM: There's rules in fashion ?

Corto Moltedo invites you to a very exclusive private preview at the Marina Bay Sand hotel on the 26th, 27th and 28th of April, during this very limited time their collection will be on sale for the very first time in Singapore. RSVP by April 20th to Erika Swan at singapore@corto.com.

Introducing: Bench

Bench clothing is renowned for its cool urban streetwear and multifuntional clothing. It originally started out as a small underground men’s wear label with strong links to the Manchester rave scene as well as skateboarding and BMX culture.

Photobucket

Bench rose to fame when it was adopted by cool celebrities and indie bands like Noel Gallagher, Echo and the Bunnymen and The Charlatans. It’s all about funky tees for electronic music fans, with comfortable, loose and stylish festival and holiday clothes aplenty, plus a darker, more rebellious line for skaters out there looking to stand out from the crowd.

Nick Barber, head of men’s design at Bench, says, “We take inspiration from our audience and how they interact with urban culture, music and media”, and accordingly there’s a diverse range here that’s as suitable for a rock and roll lifestyle as it is for surf culture. You can get a great deal online if you buy Bench clothing at Littlewoods, with all the latest styles in stock.

See through lace

Photobucket

Photobucket

I think wearing this peter pan collar top is such a refreshment from days of loose tank and singlets. I was somehow hesitant to wear this trend at first because I think it would appear too feminine. Maybe it's not too late yet. But I thought pairing it with a more casual denim shorts is always an option.

Photobucket

How would you wear a peter pan collar blouse?

Wearing a blouse from Berrybow, Ksubi Midnight Runner shorts, Manolo BB in blue suede and a Mulberry bracelet.

Reveal: IdeaPad U300s Ultrabook

Photobucket

This post is dedicated to my Lenovo IdeaPad U300s Ultrabook with a slim design and ultra-responsive performance I was gifted for being part of their Social Influencer Programme. The IdeaPad U300s is a luxury laptop for someone DO-attitude, a definite go-getter, and one that exudes personal style. It came with this breathable keyboard with an Advanced Cooling Technology to improve airflow so PC can run cooler on your lap. The fact that it is only 0.6” thin, that's even thinner than my Blackberry, makes it so easy to carry, even to put inside my Balenciaga City bag. Amazing, isn't it?

Photobucket

The keyboard is very similar to MacBook, with fairly-sized keys that are generously spaced apart. The keys are soft, responsive and laid out very neatly for comfortable typing. Watch the product tour video below, featuring a co-founder of a Fashion PR Agency.

The bonus point is that it boots in as little as 10.5 seconds. Besides, the touch pad is responsive and comfortable to use; the sensitivity is just right. I remember my old PC loads so slowly compared to my MacBook, but this Lenovo is very impressive. The battery lasts for about 8 hours, definitely enough for replying emails, browsing, blogging on-the-go, and light sourcing for school researches. I guess, technology has really developed since. I sort of fall in love again with PC.

Photobucket

My overall impression is that I'm very happy with it. I'm obsessed with it's luxe, minimalist book-shaped design and battery life, and I would surely recommend this product to friends, acquaintances, and anyone needing a full-performance laptop but is very light to carry around. It is so light I can promise you that it's even lighter than your daily bag.

Thanks again to the Lenovo team, and my dear girl Niki Torres. Photographed by Stephanie Samudra.

Mint green and crochet shorts

Photobucket

Photobucket

I have finally found the perfect mint green top from Zara. At first, I was looking so hard for a mint green V-neck jumper or any cashmere top, which I still haven't found until now. I'm worried I wouldn't be able to get one before the it's out of trend. I'm absolutely loving this top, it goes with everything.

Photobucket

My hair is more like ash brown now, without light. Here I was photographed under the very bright sizzling hot sun and it looks a lot lighter. Wearing H&M crochet shorts and shades, Balenciaga sandals and bracelets from Mulberry. I'm currently obsessed with beads and friendship bracelets. Will get my hands on some Shashi, Ettika and Erica Anenberg pieces. Shashi is available at CODA Co. at Scotts Square Singapore.
