NYFW: Victoria Beckham Spring '13
This season, there's a strong attention to city dresses in black and white, and interesting use of the satin and canvas in shirts. There's also this very interesting black jacket with clean sartorial cut, broken into four zipped pieces that has been on my mind since I first saw it a couple days back.
I think the most defining looks in this collection are those shape-wear inspired version of her famous bodycon dresses and strappy bra tops that had a sporty sophistication, particularly when crafted in part with semi sheer elements. Brilliant!
Look at how luxurious and timeless this spectacular version of the Hexagonal Chain Bag in crocodile is. As I keep seeing and adoring each of her collection every season, I do believe Victoria Beckham has certainly been one of the most confident designers as her label has grown over the years. Her take on pants was the first time in her lineup and on top of that, she put a real focus on separates – another first for the designer.
She teamed up with Manolo Blahnik this season, which helped her create those leather wrap flat gladiator sandals, but of course, there were some heels version (for her to wear too, I guess).
Finally, to Victoria, it was a great idea to add the coy 'I'm so freaking grateful for everything, I can't help it..' smile and tear when you came out to take your bow at your fashion show. Just to remind everyone that you are infact a human and not devoid of any emotion. Plus, congratulations you are married to the world's most beautiful creature.
