3.1 Phillip Lim launches first ad campaign

Photobucket
3.1 Phillip Lim has finally announced the launch of their very first advertising campaign for the Spring 2013 season.

Shot on location in New York by Alessio Bolzini, and styled by Nancy Rohde, the campaign features models Katryn Kruger and Franzi Mueller. Showcasing Phillip's grunge-inspired Spring looks on the streets of New York, the images have a raw urban edge that mimics the post-show street-style frenzy that has taken the world by storm.

The campaign is set to launch in Spring issues of US titles- Another, Love, Interview, The Gentlewomen and Vogue. Additionally, the campaign can be seen online and at various outdoor locations during Fashion Week in New York and Los Angeles.

Rag & Bone/JEAN: Raja Midnight

Photobucket

As an avid supporter of printed & colored denim, Rag & Bone/JEAN The Split Skinny Raja Midnight jeans are hands down my favorite pair ever made. They successfully combined the overdone printed denim trend with the everyday black jean, so that you’re getting the best of both worlds – classic, wearable simplicity with a new take on printed denim design. And psst... they are on sale from USD286 down to USD200, click here to purchase them from Shopbop.

The fit was perfect, the overall white, red and black palette were annoyingly good looking and the fact that the long vertical pattern lengthens the leg sum it all up. One way to wear them without looking overkill is of course, with a boyfriend t-shirt and a pair of killer heels. This time I went with Charlotte Olympia Dolly in ivory.

Photobucket

Although it's only my second pair, I believe that I can rely on Rag & Bone/JEAN from time to time. Again, the great fit allows me to skip the annoying dressing room rituals and be able to purchase them online without even worrying a tad bit.

Obsessed: CÉLINE SS13 roll-top clutch

Photobucket

Another day, another Céline obsession. I have been eyeing this beauty for so long, and this clutch one is literally a must have. This accordion style roll-up clutch is a great addition to any possible outfit. My favorite has to be the red one pictured above.

Ms Philo definitely knows exactly what she's doing at her job. Although it very much resembles the work of Jil Sanders’ rendition of the Paper Bag for Fall 2012, this is definitely da bomb. Call it minimalist couture in one shot.

New Balance: high fashion trainers

Photobucket

It's this topic again. I don't wear flats, no trainers. I've always wanted to wear them but my feet just can't tolerate. The only time I wore trainers was when I was in high school I wore them to school only, just because I had to. I mean, 3 years ago, we don't have wedge sneakers. All I wore was Nike Dunk Low. I had one pair for each year. I had to change for a new pair, exact same style, new color every year just because everyone in school changes shoes every two or three months, and I was the only one that stick to a pair for a year. I don't even bother to change style, because I was always too lazy to try them on in store.

Starting last year, there was this massive Isabel Marant wedge sneaker phenomenon that is unavoidable. As much as I want a pair for myself, I couldn't justify to get one because of my short legs. I can imagine how the tongue was far too high and it cuts my leg at the wrong place and as a result, my legs will appear even shorter than it actually is.

Anyway, the point is, maybe I really need to get a pair of trainers for fun. The truth is, maybe buying Isabel Marant is not a great idea because they are expensive to just sit in my shoe closet, if I won't ever dare to actually wear them. Then there are these New Balance sneakers which have subsequently appear in high fashion editorials. They might not have a hidden wedge heel, but they are a lot more subtle by nature, and a lot less expensive.

That's it. What do you think? Should I get these, or should I stick to Nike Dunk? They have launched the hidden wedge version Liberty x Nike Sky High Dunk and they look extremely handsome.

Saint Laurent Pre-fall 2013

With cult designer Hedi Slimane now at the creative helm, French fashion house Saint Laurent is set to return to its original essence as he reinterprets the house's luxuriously elegant DNA with a pure new attitude.

Photobucket

The Saint Laurent creative director has once again blurred the lines between musician and model using talented LA born blonde-bombshell Sky Ferreira to front his monochromatic campaign. Think rock 'n' roll chic - slick tuxedo jackets, pussy-bow blouses and single sole stiletto boots.

Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2013 by Steven Meisel

We know we love all of the spring campaigns that have been released over the last couple of weeks but so far I'm most in love with Balenciaga‘s campaign featuring three beautiful models, Kremi Otashliuska, Kirstin Liljegren and Sam Rollinson. This is such a contrast with their Spring 2012 campaign which I really loathe.

Photobucket

I love the simplicity of this whole campaign and how it perfectly embodies Balenciaga’s cool yet effortlessly chic charm. I mean, when we look at these, we can totally accept them saying "We are Balenciaga, we just have to show up, take a few shots and that's all we're done here."

The Golden Globes 2013: Best-Dressed Stars

Photobucket

It's award season again and we know we couldn't take our eyes off the red carpet dresses. Here's my top three best dressed-stars. First place is definitely The Les Miserables winner, Anna Hathaway, who donned Chanel's beaded strapless dress from the SS09 haute couture collection.

Photobucket

The dress is absolutely stunning on her, the color of the dress, those diamonds, her hair and those lipstick. An ultimate perfection. Moving on, second place goes to Jessica Alba in Oscar de la Renta styled by the one and only Brad Goreski. She paired the melon silk dress with a Harry Winston necklace worth US$5.8 million.

The third place winner is Golden Globe presenter Kate Hudson who look effortlessly glamorous in an Alexander McQueen number in black, of course with gold embellishment.

Other stars that deserves to be on the list are no other than these beauties who didn't play it safe. Emily Blunt chose this Michael Kors cutout embellished gold gown which really complements her lean figure.

Next on the list is Lea Michelle. The Glee actress wore an Elie Saab embellished halter gown with a high slit detail from the SS12 ready-to-wear collection.

Photobucket

Nicole Richie opts for this gorgeous Naeem Khan sky blue dress and channels Old Hollywood glamour when she arrived at the red carpet. Totally digging her blue eyeshadow!

Photobucket

The Silver Linings Playbook winner stole the spotlight in a coral organza Dior Haute Couture dress featuring a structured bustier and metal belt.

Photobucket

Last but not least, is Taylor Swift who reportedly split from her boyfriend for two months, Harry Styles. She looks amazing in this oxblood Donna Karan Atelier gown. I wonder if it's her breakup that made her go for a darker, more mysterious look than her usual glittery silver and gold toned dresses.

Margiela for H&M silk scarves top

Photobucket

Out of the many options of more wearable pieces from the Margiela for H&M, I got my hands on the silk scarves top, from their Spring/Summer 1992 collection. See how Leigh Lezark rocked it here. I had a little too much fun at the studio playing dress up while shooting for Poise24's upcoming campaign for February.

Photobucket

I actually think the fabric is amazing. It's like washed silk, really smooth and delicate. Anyway, speaking of Margiela for H&M, it's all over the news that this collaboration wasn't that successful compared with the previous ones with Versace and Marni. It's definitely too avant-garde for the average shopper and I was actually quite surprised at how high the collection was priced. Especially the Invisible wedge pumps, that are SGD399. This top is one of those that end up on the sales rack (original price was SGD249 and now they are SGD50).

Poise24 New Year campaign

Photobucket

For the New Year's campaign, we did an editorial sort of campaign. The theme is about getting all dressed up, for a glamorous night out. Featuring Adrianne B. and shot by Deasy of VDS Photography at Majapahit Hotel Surabaya, we think we did a remarkable one this time.
