Isabel Marant pour H&M alert

It's devastating to me that I wasn't in town to come and touch and feel Isabel Marant pour H&M at the Singapore preview yesterday, but I have done my homework with all the lookbook browsing and budget planning. Most of the pieces according to Laila of Rock The Trend, are heavy knitwear which is not very wearable, except maybe the plain tees and boho pattern dresses. But my eyes are definitely on this "solid" jacket with perfect embellishments that according to her, probably weighs 5 kgs. The only thing I don't like is the price tag (S$549).

Anyway, in case you missed the news, H&M taps some of the industry’s top names to star in the campaign images for this particular collaboration. Models Daria Werbowy, Devon Aoki, Malgosia Bela, Milla Jovovich, Sam Rollinson and Saskia de Brauw all star in a stylish series of studio images photographed by Karim Sadli below.

Kate Spade Saturday is channeling the carefree spirit of the weekend and bringing it to every day of the week with bright colors, graphic silhouettes, and bold prints. The new multi-category brand offers apparel (including dresses, jackets, denim, T-shirts, sweaters, and swimwear) and accessories (including handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, watches, footwear, eyewear, and tech accessories), as well as tabletop and home décor items.

In its signature yellow retail spaces, Kate Spade Saturday has designed a unique store experience that celebrates the social side of shopping with friends, while creating a seamless, grab-and-go experience. Customers are encouraged to relax and hang out as much as they are to browse and shop. At the in-store customization station, customers can combine a wide variety of colors and patterns to create their own version of the brand’s signature Weekender Bag.

The first Kate Spade Saturday store in Singapore opens this fall at Shop 27/27A, Level B1 at ION Shopping Mall, 2 Orchard Turn in Orchard, and will be accompanied by the launch of an ecommerce site, Saturday.sg.

Lady Dior: The Making Of

Five years have passed since her first ad campaign for the Lady Dior handbag range but Marion Cottilard still exudes the same glamour in her latest campaign by photographer Tim Walker, who captured the actress showcasing two new bags from the Lady Dior range in graduated colors.

Here's a behind the scene video of the ad campaign shoot with Marion Cotillard for Lady Dior Resort 2014, her sixth campaign for the handbag line.



Taking more than eight hours to manufacture, the Lady Dior handbag consists of 100 different components, with its distinctive pattern said to be inspired by Napoleon II couture chairs used during the very first Christian Dior show in 1947.

Michael Kors Watch Hunger Stop

Michael Kors is dedicating the entire month of October to the fight against hunger. On World Food Day, October 16, Michael Kors teams will take to the streets outside six stores in five major cities to give away Watch Hunger Stop T-shirts. In each of the cities—New York, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Hong Kong—T-shirt recipients will be able to go into the participating store, enter a photo both (actually, a Phhhoto Station) and have their picture taken. The Phhhoto images will be streamed live all day and evening on billboards in New York City’s Times Square and on Kors’ dedicated microsite, WatchHungerStop.com. The image (an animated GIF) will also be sent to participants via text and can be shared over social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter using #WatchHungerStop.

The 100 Series watch is the brand’s first uniquely designed product to support a global philanthropic initiative. Available exclusively in Michael Kors stores worldwide and online at MichaelKors.com, it retails for $295. While overwhelming demand led to limited availability when the watch—offered in two styles—was first introduced, it is now back in stock around the world. One watch features a gold-tone stainless steel case and bracelet with a turquoise dial. The other shares the same design details but is cast in a silver-tone stainless steel case and bracelet with a navy blue dial. Both watches have a detailed map of the world etched on the colorful dial, along with the words “100 Series.”

The 100 Series watch was unveiled by Michael Kors, together with Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry, this past April. Berry and Kors are also planning a visit to the field with WFP in the next year to experience firsthand the work done by the organization and to highlight the ongoing need to end hunger that exists in countries around the globe. Renowned for her talent, Berry has also been honored for her activism and philanthropy over the years. “I’m proud to join Michael Kors in this global effort to end hunger,” says Berry. “Statistics show that women play a crucial role in defeating hunger. WFP is especially focused on providing assistance to women because, as mothers, teachers, and entrepreneurs, they will improve the future for their families and communities. It’s an effort I’m eager to be a part of because I’m certain we can make a real and substantial difference in the lives of people in need.”

Today, October 16, 2013 is World Food Day. In the fight against global hunger and to support fundraising efforts, Michael Kors has partnered the United Nations World Food Programme on a global campaign, #watchhungerstop in support of its school meals programme.

Customers in Michael Kors retail stores around the world will be able to add a $5, $10 or $25 donation to WFP to their purchases for the month of October. Stores will also prominently feature the 100 Series watch, specially designed by Michael Kors to support WFP. For each watch sold, 100 children in a hunger-stricken area receive a nutritious meal.

Crop tops are here to stay

Making its debut around a decade ago, seen on Destiny’s Child to Gwen Stefani to the Spice Girls and Britney Spears, they are making a huge come back in Spring 2013. However, judging from how not a single designer didn't show at least one crop-top this season, if not a whole collection that revolved around them, they are definitely here to stay. Still a hot trend for next season, here are my favorite pairings of the crop tops in almost every stylish combination possible.
