On dressing like Rihanna, by Rihanna

Rihanna is Vogue‘s March cover girl and I know every girl has a bad girl in them and they wanna dress like Rihanna. The singer, who turns 26 on Thursday, Feb. 20, looks low-key yet strikingly gorgeous in a pair of faded, embellished jeans and a see-through, mesh fringe top by Louis Vuitton.

In case you don't have a copy,  Fashionista.com have basically revealed what's inside the cover story, and how to achieve her seemingly unattainable cool and influential personal style.

Okay so they're basically interesting, some are applicable, and some are not. But every bit of it is genuinely awesome.

1. Don’t worry about the pain when choosing footwear: “I can dance in them,” Rihanna says of a pair of Saint Laurent stilettos. “It’s not about pain. It’s about the commitment. I say to myself, ‘I want to look like this,’ and worry about the pain later.”

2. : “My jewelry’s all fake — from Claire’s. Or I get it from my mom’s boutique in Barbados. Her shop’s called FAB-U-LUS.”

3. Oversized jackets are the key to everything: “It’s fierce,” she says of a men’s Alexander Wang jacket. “This is dope leather. More than anything, I like a jacket. You can do anything with a great jacket, the bigger the better. You can have any silhouette underneath. It gives you an attitude. It makes a gown look cool.”

4. Dress like you’re a pop star at dance rehearsal: “It all started in dance rehearsal,” Rihanna explains of her now-iconic sweats-with-heels look. “When you’re on tour, you go to rehearse wearing sweats and sneaks. Then you practice your song in the heels you are going to wear that night. I realized, Wow, that looks cool! I have a friend who is literally searching for cool T-shirts for me all the time because I’m obsessed.” Also, employ someone whose sole job is to “find cool t-shirts” for you.

5. Get fashion inspiration from Instagram : “I follow girls from the Middle East. It gives you ideas.”

6. The best rule of all, the rule of bras: “If I’m wearing a top, I don’t wear a bra,” she says. “If I’m wearing a bra, I just wear a bra.”

The Best Dressed Stars at BAFTA 2014

 photo brad-pitt-angelina-jolie_zps82aa1cb4.jpg

The internet went crazy over Angelina Jolie's matching tuxedo look with Brad Pitt. While she opted for understated glamour in an androgynous tailored black trouser suit by Saint Laurent (of course), she still managed to look smoking.

However, all eyes were on Kenyan beauty Lupita Nyong'o, who is up for Best Supporting Actress in 12 Years a Slave. The rising star stole the limelight in a stunning Christian Dior emerald, fishtail gown with a metal belt and cuffs.

Cate Blanchett paid tribute to Philip Seymour Hoffman during her BAFTA Awards acceptance speech and was near regal in a floor length, Alexander McQueen, black silk gown with floral detail and necklace from Chopard's Animal World collection featuring diamond doves that move, together with diamonds stud earrings.

American Hustle star Amy Adams wore Victoria Beckham and this time it didn't have a plunging neckline. Nevertheless, she looked so elegant in a long, black dress with a prim collar and sheer panel.

Dame Helen Mirren who will be awarded the BAFTA Fellowship defied her years in a stunning Jacques Azagury black gown with elaborate lace and beadwork, sheer panels and a ruffled skirt.

Uma Thurman was the epitome of movie star chic as she took to the red carpet. The Nymphomaniac actress opted for a sophisticated look in a navy-blue Atelier Versace silk cady gown with a slit in the back and necklace by Chopard featuring 32ct of diamonds.

Details: Mary Katrantzou Fall 2014

 photo mary-katrantzou-fall-2014-1_zps90565f14.jpg

I always have this one question everytime Mary Katrantzou opens her show, what are the fresh, creative, unexpected eye popping digital print inspirations this season? Only this season, there are no digital prints. I scrolled back to top and click on each and every thumbnail on Vogue.com but it was true. This season, the designer explored a whole new level of her design direction.

Wanna know the theme for fall? It all lies in the power of signs and symbols. Take a look at the details here.

I wonder whether she will still produce the version of print jersey dresses and tees come Fall, cause I bet these runway pieces will cost a couple thousand dollars more than her usual price range.

Best of NYFW Fall 2014

 photo 08-prabal-streaker-3_zpscbfb9058.jpg

Here it comes again, the uprising designers, the dresses, venues, glamorous attendees, scandals and all kinds of things that can go wrong. Once again, even there's even a speculation that the end of streetstyle is near, we can't help but scroll through 'outside Michael Kors', 'before Alexander Wang', 'models off duty' and best dressed fashion editors sections online.

Most memorable NYFW moment has got to when streaker ran through Prabal Gurung's fall 2014 fashion show, wearing a codpiece, tube socks, and a crown. See photo above.

Anyway, in this post, I just want to share the best looks, that are wearable and luxurious, different. I like how during fashion week there are all kinds of clothes shown, some are boring clothes like what you can see in Banana Republic, but some are just beautiful, completely comprehendible why they cost a bomb, and some are looks that will stuck in your head for months and you wait and wait and wait until you can touch and feel the actual products in store.

So much for the rambling, here they are (looks that are not what you usually see in Banana Republic):

1. Prabal Gurung

Peter Pilotto for Target

 photo peter-pilotto-for-target-3_zps950cc934.jpg

Finally! The Peter Pilotto for Target collection is just days away from hitting stores! The London-based brand known for it's colorful creations did not skimp out on their budget-conscious fans – I mean, look at these surf-inspired pieces.

You may have seen the complete lookbook, but their campaign starred by Jessica Stam, Jourdan Dunn, Yumi Lambert, and Daniela Braga, who wear colourful floral patterns, bright styles, and a fashionable array of apparel, swimwear, and accessories are making the clothes even prettier. If you want to see the clothes in motion, click here for the video version.

For the first time in Target collab' history, Net-a-Porter will be selling selected pieces of this very collection on their site. I don't know exactly what time the collection will drop online, but it will be available on February 9th at Target stores and Net-a-Porter.

Prices range from US$14.99-US$79.99.

 photo peter-pilotto-for-target_zps5235b860.jpg

The question remains, how bad do you want it? How much are you willing to spend? I have mentally set aside $800 for a couple dresses, crop tops and skirts, but let's see whether I can score the pieces I want (in my size, or maybe up to 2 sizes too big since I can bring them to get them altered).. Anyway, just right before they have sold out online. Remember, you're competing with the rest of the world here.
