Garuda Goes To School: UK Petra

 photo IMG_7159ok_zps31bf2923.jpg

Just received the photos from my road show with Garuda Indonesia, sharing tips on social media and blogging. This was the second day of the three-day event, which was held at Petra Christian University Surabaya.

There were about 150 students that showed up and supported the 30 minute seminar. I was so overwhelmed with their attentiveness and engagement.

 photo IMG_7009ok_zpsbe43a4a8.jpg

This event was supported by Precious Moment Decorations, which specializes in small events and private parties decor. The cupcakes were from Cecilia, my cousin who does customized cupcake, you can reach her via email britannia07@hotmail.com.

 photo decor-garuda-goes-to-school_zps4f665c90.jpg

The seminar consists of two parts, first was a presentation by Garuda Indonesia on their new route from Surabaya to Singapore, followed by an introduction to my blog and personality. Then I begin a short presentation about my background, how I started my blog and some of my achievements from 3 years of blogging in Singapore-Indonesia.

The next part is the interview, which was mainly about my ideas and vision on achieving your dream. I was sharing about how blogging has increased my confidence, helped me build up my contacts and networks and how it convinced me to launch my clothing line business online.

I basically had fun during the whole roadshow, although it was my first time sharing my experiences in public, thanks to Garuda Indonesia and their PR team, I nailed it. I also want to thank everyone who showed up at the seminar, each and everyone of you.

Anyway, I'd also like to give a shout out to my amazing makeup artist who did my hair and makeup, Malva (call +6285730387777) for bookings.

 photo garuda-goes-to-school-1_zps20bf0b3c.jpg

It was delightful to see students asking questions which were both technical and general, because I feel very blessed to be able to inspire them in any way. In the end, it helped me gain more confidence and it makes me more driven to develop my influence in the blogging scene as well as my clothing label.

 photo IMG_7047ok_zpsc25dd91b.jpg

There was a photo session at the end of the seminar, and thank you for everyone who was there to wait in line and took photos with me. I don't know how to describe it but really, there was never a time that people really asked me for a photo unless it's a fashion event, and from the media side.

 photo IMG_7227ok_zps99105111.jpg

I would like to thank Garuda Indonesia and Petra Christian University for the opportunity. Also many thanks to Moire Photography for all these photographs.

Garuda Goes To School: ITS Campus

 photo its4_zps1b736c1a.jpg

The three days roadshow has come to an end! Here are some photos of my part at Garuda Indonesia Goes To School. I had a chance to share and perhaps teach university students about the social media, the importance and significance of blogging and how I can establish a clothing line business after blogging for 3 years.

Thanks for all of the great support for the event, it was overwhelming to be able to speak in front of more than a hundred attendees. I also want to thank every single one of you who showed up and listened to what I share and actually pay attention and asked questions.

If you happen to be there, at one of the roadshows, and didn't get a chance to ask me questions personally, you can still email me and I will try my best to respond to you.

More photos from the first and second day will follow! Stay tuned.

Sebastian Gunawan Modmuse 2014

I had a chance to fly to Jakarta for Sebastian Gunawan Modmuse 2014. I was dressed in Sebastian Red Label embellished blouse which features a delicate beading around the neckline. There were more than 600 guests who came to the show. I heard that a lot of them are clients and socialites who keep going to the show each year to show their never-ending support for the designer.

 photo sebastian-gunawan-modmuse2014-jakarta-SAM_0771resizd_zps652569b8.jpg

"Mod Muse identifies women nowadays, who already owned characters, sophistication, self-confidence, aware with their own needs, and original", said Sebastian Gunawan and Christina Panarese, the two designers who presented their annual show at Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jakarta last week.

Modmuse 2014 was inspired from two sophisticated ladies from 50s era, Grace Kelly and Greta Garbo, along with the sparkles and ruffles taken from Madonna's look in her 80s era. Presenting 117 gowns and cocktail dresses, including three wedding gowns from Sebastian Sposa collection, all models were wearing a headpiece designed by Rinaldi A. Yunardi. Beside the magnificent dresses, pointy heels with ankle strap has become the perfect detail to complete the look.

Guests and interested parties can directly purchase the dresses the next day, at Sebastian Gunawan atelier in Jakarta. Prices start at 20 mln IDR (2,300 SGD).

At Kate Spade grand opening in Surabaya

Was at Kate Spade Spring 2013 private event which also marks the grand opening of their first boutique in town. It had such a youthful twist throughout the store display and the collection. Both colors and prints made bold statements as they clashed together. Here's a photo of me dressed in Poise24 and Rania, remember she was my model for Poise24 Orient collection?

Also, check out these Kate Spade pop-art bags, tech-accessories (iPhone5 case for $40 from Zappos.com), cosmetic pouch and more! With its colorful, cute, and feminine aesthetic, Kate Spade is definitely a brand that thinks fashion should be fun.

Lana Del Rey celebrates Mulberry Singapore

English luxury brand Mulberry celebrated the opening of its first Asian flagship store in Singapore with a private dinner and cocktail event including a live performance from singer Lana Del Rey, the inspiration behind the Del Rey bag.

The store was officially opened by Mulberry CEO Bruno Guillon, Creative Director Emma Hill and Lana Del Rey. A little piece of Britain came to Singapore with Mulberry for the launch, ‘Queen’s guards’ stood either side of the store entrance in sentry boxes and bagpipes were played as the ribbon was cut!

Guests including Lana Del Rey, pictured below carrying a Del Rey in Ink Blue Croc Print from the Autumn Winter 2012 Collection, Joanne Peh, Marisa Wee, Tracy Phillips and Arissa Cheo, enjoyed cocktails in the new store, which was designed to reflect Mulberry’s dedication to craftsmanship and is underpinned by the notion of contrast and duality, influenced by the themes of Englishness and craft.

A gentle reminder, I'm giving away a Mulberry Del Rey special edition in Mulberry Pink to celebrate the flagship store opening at Mandarin Gallery. Don't miss your chance of winning the flawless 'It' bag, because the contest still runs until November 5th! Click here for more details.

Elena Perminova at Vogue The Health Initiative

Working the peplum silhouette, Elena is simply gorgeous in this low cut black blouse. Loving the effortless vibe she created by that messy hairstyling.

According to Fashionista:

"The new initiative will make several efforts to improve models’ working conditions, as well as promote healthier body images for readers. For instance, as part of the agreement, Vogue editors will not “knowingly” use models under the age of 16–which means that models like Gemma Ward, Lindsey Wixson and Karlie Kloss (who were all photographed for an edition of Vogue under the age of 16) will have to wait a few years before getting snapped. The editors have also made a pact not to use models who “appear to” have eating disorders and instead work with girls who “in [their] view” promote a healthy body image. This one’s obviously a lot harder to qualify, but hopefully it means we’ll see a wider variety of sizes and shapes, instead of the now-ubiquitous double-zero."

AFF: Mugler after party in Singapore

After a series of stylish events I had to miss this past three months due to my final term schedule, I had a chance to attend the Belvedere Vodka Official Audi Fashion Festival 2012 After Party with MUGLER featuring The Misshapes and Michaelangelo L’Acqua. I took my gorgeous girlfriend, Any, and she also helped me with my makeup. As for the party, the atmosphere was awesome! Here's from their photo booth.

The Misshapes started spinning around midnight and all I can do was to stare at Leigh Lazark. She's so pretty I could die. Not really a techno-beat fan here, but the night was definitely enjoyable.

Nicola Formichetti turned up and yes, I had a chance to take a photo with him. Below is my fellow SGFB friends, Xiao Wen of Fash-Eccentric and Laila of Rock The Trend.

My rings are from Mont Blanc, part of their 4810 collection. Shaped like the Mont Blanc star emblem, it's even nicer when worn together with the smaller, full diamond version. Definitely my favorite stackable rings in rose gold. Here's a better shot of the three ring combo from my Twitter.

I was wearing my old ASOS neon yellow dress, and I don't think they still have it in stock. However, they have some amazing new arrivals in yellow here and here.

Corto Moltedo: Singapore trunk show

Corto Moltedo had their trunk show in Singapore two weeks ago at a presidential suite at Marina Bay Sands. I had a chance to preview their Spring collection and meet the designer, the very talented, Gabrielecorto.

Out of the many designs of the iconic Susan C star, I found that these embroidered minaudieres are the most extravagant. They are just so delicate. I can't keep my eyes off them. They are so much prettier in real life. I think it's the brilliant mix of crystals and the modern pattern, intricately crafted that is very distinctive. I can totally imagine Anna Dello Russo carrying them.

Of course there were also some day clutches, like the Arto A4 Cassette Snake Colormix with Studs, which you can get online from their website for EUR 750.00 before 21% VAT rebate.
