Last thursday of 2010

We are so close to 2011! What are your plans to celebrate New Year?

Photobucket

I bought this top from Forever 21 the other day because perhaps I can wear it on New Year's Eve. But I wasn't that patient. I wore it a couple days ago for a night out with friends and paired it with a satin blazer from Global Citizen.

Photobucket

I thought this can be an inspiration for your party look tomorrow, so I decided to post this up today, in the middle of finishing up my assignment drafts. I need to be quick since I need to write so many papers. Everybody is having their fantastic holidays while I am stuck with school works.

Anyway, I don't want to ruin your holiday mood. Cheers to a prospective and wonderful new year 2011!

Don't you walk too far

Photobucket

I've been wanting to wear my clogs since long ago and finally here they are! They were a bargain from New Look I bought a couple months back while they were in trend madness. I just read that Rumi from fashiontoast actually waits until she has the exact mood to wear something as well. So I'm curious, is there any item in particular that you feel you have to wear it only when you're in the right mood?

Paired it with a chiffon blouse from Zara and Cotton On denims.

I went to Marina Bay Sands quite a lot these days due to massive crowds in Orchard. And for my readers who have not been here, you should check out MBS. Oh plus, I'm so excited for the so-called Louis Vuitton 'island', which is going to be huge!

Inside the shopping mall, there's this canal that with gondola rides. Very beautiful.

Have yourself a Merry little Christmas

Photobucket

Yesterday I had my birthday dinner with my girlfriends at P.S. Cafe Ann Siang Hill. The whole cafe is very rich with Christmas ambience and the atmosphere is very European. I really can't wait for my chance to celebrate Christmas Eve in Paris one day.

On a riverboat

Photobucket

Went to have dinner with my classmates here yesterday and realized that the view was beautiful.

Photobucket

My favorite Christmas tree is always traditional, with blue lights. I don't know how this photograph speaks to you but really, it is beautiful on its own.

Wearing my Uniqlo cardigan with a skull scarf from Topshop. I received a lot of compliments from my friends yesterday. And psst.. I got an Alexander McQueen skull scarf in chiffon silk for my birthday!

From the deck, you can also see the iconic Marina Bay Sands. I got to get my hair done for my birthday dinner party tonight! As for the readers who sent me birthday wishes through twitter, I would like to say thank you. Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

Dress Sense Private Party

Have you ever thought that spending a couple hundred bucks for a dress to be worn in just one event is a bit too much? I can't refuse to admit that I feel that often. As much as I want to look perfectly glamorous, I still want to get rid of splurging for a dress. Here is one way to do it. You pay not even half the full price, to rent an imported designer gown that is one of a kind. Plus, they help you with the alteration for those petite sized like me. There, you look just as amazing without forking out 500 dollars or more.

Boasting respected brands like Adrianna Papell, Jovani and Inge Christopher, Dress Sense currently stocks one of the largest collection of international occasion wear labels here in Singapore. With the big brands come a wide variety, with a galore of evening and cocktail dresses, evening bags and accessories to offer.

Photobucket

Dresses range from $400 - $1200 for purchase and $100 - $250 for rental, while accessories range from $ 100 to $ 500 for purchase and $80 - $200 for rental.

For women of all ages, silhouettes and spending power, dressing your best for big nights has just become a lot easier.

Les Khakis

It's been a while since my latest outfit post! I want to apologize for the lack of updates one more time. The good news is, I got a new Mac book pro. Anyway, I went for a coffee today at a very unique cafe which is also a vintage furniture shop located at Haji Lane.

Jim Thompson Latest Collection Presentation

I went to one of the most exclusive showcase of handpicked collection of scarves and accessories from Thailand earlier this month. I have waited long enough to share the gorgeous range of uniquely rich and delicate collection as I have not been able to update my blog for quite some time. The presentation took place at The Jim Thompson Thai Restaurant. Hundreds of colourful cashmere and wool blends, exquisite iridescent silk weaves and limited edition antique pieces were flow in from Thailand for the one-day private event.

Photobucket

“The scarf has become a truly important accessory piece for both men and women, to be worn on any occasion - movies, dining, travel and more,” said Mr. Henry Lee, Merchandise Director, Jim Thompson. Given the versatility of their scarves, quality is essential. Jim Thompson ensures that all its accessories are created with superb refinement and sensual appeal, inspired by the brand’s unmatched textile production expertise.

Photobucket

With the recent opening of the new flagship store at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands – Jim Thompson’s third retail location in Singapore – the company will further expand its exposure in fashion retail with a distinctive range of ready-to-wear and accessories.

Things are not always as they seem

Photobucket

Photobucket

I'm wearing my tailored blazer which I probably have worn a hundred times, yet I never feature it on my blog. I have a regular tailor in my hometown who makes most of the blazers I own. I'm currently thinking how fierce would it be to wear a leopard printed blazer.

Photobucket

Paired it with a fun-colored top from Topshop. This is my favorite because it is lightweight and slouchy!

Photobucket

And I gave up on getting a leopard ponyhair pair, I got another pair of Maniac instead, which are in suede.

Lee Hwa Diamond Odyssey 2010

Photobucket

Last week I had the chance to attend a spectacular annual jewellery showcase by Lee Hwa Jewellery. The highlight of the event will be the long-awaited debut of Forevermark, a diamond brand from the De Beers group of companies, in Singapore. Lee Hwa Jewellery is the official distributor of Forevermark in Singapore and its first licensee partner in Asia.

Photobucket

In addition, nine winning Forevermark pieces from the Shining Light Awards 2010 will also be showcased. These one-of-a-kind pieces, in the final leg of their Asia tour, are made up of an astounding 10,515 diamonds, totaling over 226 carats.

Here are some photos from the show, with models wearing gorgeous dresses from Ashley Isham Spring 2010 collection.
