Marc by Marc Jacobs Singapore: Disco Party

I attended Marc by Marc Jacob's 70's-inspired disco party last night. Models presented the Fall/Winter '11 collection while dancing to ABBA's Dancing Queen and The Weather Girl's It's Raining Men. Disco balls in store, DJ playing funky 70's music all evening, it a night full of fun!

I have a crush on this blouse, I saw it the other day when I walked into the store, and snapped a picture of it last night. What do you think?

Photobucket

Notice something different with my hair? I did it yesterday at Salon Vim at Somerset 313. It's a bit blonder now, but I love it to pieces.

Photobucket

Was there with my girls Alice and Charlene! Both looking gorgeous.

Photobucket

There were complimentary makeup services and a mini manicure parlour with nail stickers featuring Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall prints.

Top 10 best-dressed guests will take home a $100 voucher each. If you were there last night, go to Club 21 Global's Facebook Page and see if they pick you!

Those are my new platforms from Steve Madden. Not my usual 6-inch pumps, but please don't hate them. They're very comfortable and super tall at the same time.

Balenciaga Spring 2012

It's modern-futuristic and retro at the exact same level, I would say. Clean cuts, shiny fabrics, oversized but structured, sexy shiny pants that are to die for. Oh and the white blouses below are dreamy. I can really watch the show on repeat and maybe in slow motion. Brilliant, Nicholas.

Photobucket

This look will always be on my mind forever. Is the top shaped like that or is it because it's tucked in only half I don't know, but to me this is sporty luxe at it's best.

The shorts are the most genius creation this season. I'd buy a pair if I have the money and I promise those will be my only pair of shorts for the whole year! Love how the models rock that sporty shaped shorts in thick fabric with their one mile long legs. Is it me or if you watch the video, you'd think these pants will really elongate your legs?

See how the sporty edge with luxe feel translated in terms of footwear and yes, also in a perfect harmony. I'm genuinely obsessed with them at the moment.

I'd say this is my favorite show so far from Paris. I don't quite understand Jil Sander this season. And this is all done so well, it's like the clothes are telling us a story, although the first few huge shiny jackets (with a resemblance to those of Victoria Beckham), are really not practical and weird. P.S. If you skipped the video, please scroll up and press play, take a bit of your time to watch, or you will forever be in regret.

Estée Lauder: Pink Ribbon 2011 Singapore

Did you know that every October, Estée Lauder Companies will illuminate landmark buildings or monuments around the world in glowing pink lights? Below is the Rockefeller Centre in New York lighted up in pink during the 2010 Illumination.

Photobucket

These monuments have become international symbols of hope, with the goal that when a woman sees a pink landmark, she will be inspired to get a mammogram or seek information about breast health. Since 2000, The Estée Lauder Companies’ Global Landmark Illumination Initiative has illuminated 534 unique landmarks, and in 2009 alone, more than 200 global landmarks were illuminated.

Photobucket

Evelyn Lauder stated, “In 2000, The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign began illuminating landmarks in pink lights to alert women and raise awareness about the importance of breast health and early detection in a new and exciting way. It’s been wonderful to witness an effort that began with a handful of landmarks, led by the Empire State Building, evolve into an initiative that now spans the globe.”

Photobucket

“Awareness and early detection, along with raising more funds to find a cure, are the key components to conquering this disease. Together we can make an even bigger impact, save more lives and raise even more funds. Please tell everyone you know to do monthly breast self- exams, get mammograms annually if over the age of 40, and help raise funds to find a cure. I look forward to a future free of breast cancer.” - Elizabeth Hurley, currently in her seventeenth year of representing Estée Lauder as a Spokesperson.

Photobucket

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, each year Clinique offers a special, limited-edition bottle of its best- selling Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. This year, Clinique is featuring a miniature picture frame key chain adorned with a heart-shaped ribbon charm. I've been using Clinique products for years and this is a chance for you, Clinique fans, to donate to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Photobucket

I am honoured to be this years Estée Lauder Companies’ Singapore Breast Cancer Awareness Ambassador 2011. I pledge to know when I should get my first, or next, mammogram - and get it. Moreover, learn one new thing about breast cancer this year. Lastly, pass that knowledge along to an important woman in my life.

Join me and many others at the Illumination of Singapore Flyer into a radiant pink beacon of hope this Saturday, October 1st at 8 pm, to watch this national landmark become a symbol of hope to those who are battling against breast cancer. Prevent breast cancer, one woman at a time.

Sunglasses at Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012

Have you witnessed how fruits, flowers, and veggies opened the Spring 2012 show? Cucumbers, red peppers, onions, and even eggplants were spied on sharp dresses and separates with 50′s silhouettes.

"Last season was the fruity, now is the vegetable."- Sarah Rutson. What vegetable will you wear?

Photobucket

Let's move on to the more 'wearable' piece of the collection, which I think are the sunglasses. They are very thick rimmed, giving the perfect amount of retro-vibe. For those who dare, get them in these pastel colors.

Would you get a pair?

Louboutin for Victoria Beckham Spring 2012

Photobucket

I'm ninety percent sure they are the 120mm Pigalle. These shoes are divine, shoes which you can't blatantly ignore. Victoria made hers very practical with adding the detachable leather leg piece strapped on to the shoe.

Photobucket

What is brilliant is that these do not only give the illusion of a tight over the knee boot. The leather piece is actually removable by nature to wear with or without heels, and on top of that, the magic is to make a pair of great heels able to transition to a boot.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Don't worry, looks like they're available in different lengths, in different colors. What's your take on this?

Sarah Jessica Parker in Louboutin Alex

The Alex finally made it to the red carpet. I remember I was once tweeting about their Fall collection which includes this extraordinary 'lion-paw' shoe. Everyone was raving and I received so many retweets. And guess what? Sarah Jessica Parker took them to walk the red carper on the premier of her new movie, 'I Don't Know How She Does It'.

Photobucket

What do you think? Chic or hideous, or somewhere in between? Oh well, in case you haven't watched the movie yet, don't set your hopes too high on Kate Reddy's footwear, like what I expected, since I just can't get over the Carrie image in her. On the other hand, it's fun to see Sarah Jessica Parker wearing the Alex on the premier. Totally unexpected. Her dress is Giambattista Valli couture, by the way. Read my post about it here.

MFW: Versace and Etro Spring 2012

Photobucket

Let's start with Versace. I'm excited for this because I think it's part of my anticipation for their collaboration with H&M which is going to be in store very soon. And it turns out that for Spring 2012, there are lots of blue-ish pastel color palette incorporated along whites and blacks throughout the collection. Here are the evening gowns accented with starfishes and corals which I found very appealing. Classic Donatella, lots of sparkle.

Photobucket

The most powerful pieces in both Versace and Etro are to me, no other than the dresses. So let me talk about the dresses.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I know we all can totally picture Blake Lively wearing these to the red carpet.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Etro on the other hand, is presented with lots of bold and colorful prints. The silhouette is still the roaring 20s, still feminine, but rather edgy.

Photobucket

"So why is fashion suddenly schticking on the Great Gatsby and all that?" - Leitch.

Beautiful, aren't they? What's your favorite show of Milan Fashion Week. I hope you won't say Prada nor Fendi. Oh and I heard Jil Sander was great.
