The power of white: Spring 2012

Carrie Bradshaw once said, "I will never be the woman with the perfect hair, who can wear white and not spill on it." Wearing white top-to-toe is always a challenge. Maybe it's too much for some of us to come out from the house in all white, having in mind that perhaps you're looking like a nurse. Here are a compilation of all-white look, and some off-whites, overall, heavy in white ensembles. I write this just for you to refer to when you suddenly feel like wearing white all over. Maybe add a little bit of metallic and silver this Christmas, so then you look sparkly and more glamorous.

Let's start with this look from Erdem. It's a clean cut white shirt paired with high waisted floral shorts and floral shoes. Not so heavy in white, but it looks stunning.

Blumarine matches flower petals and fur, and sheer light fabric training pants for a little sporty vibe.

Haider Ackerman is always tough luxe. Love how the sleeves are rolled up in such a messy way, yet still luxurious.

Paul Smith. There's something about this suit that's grunge rock, showcasing the boyfriend blazer look and the ankle length cigarette pants.

Ralph Lauren and the Great Gatsby inspired pinstripe double breasted suit, with a soft pink silk tie. Very classy and elegant.

Reed Krakoff. Very edgy. A modern version of the suit, with the jacket tucked in.

Jil Sander is clean and futuristic.

Antonio Berardi, power suit with a sheer nude tee underneath.
