Christmas nails at Jayanata

Photobucket

I had the pleasure to join my beautiful friend, Amelia Gonta, at Jayanata Beauty Plaza Christmas celebration last week and in between, I managed to get my nails done. I was offered to have their latest Christmas theme nail art and it was so hard to decide which one to get because all the samples look so festive and pretty!

Both manicure and pedicure was done using Alessandro International, a German brand with a comprehensive product and care product range that covers all facets of modern nail design, offering varied product range for grooming and treatment. And here's the final product after 2 hours of work! What do you think?

Photobucket

Next I was introduced to Pedix Feet Go Lightly which magically removed rough skin and calluses in one treatment only. It involves a soft alkaline lotion that help to loosen the callused skin so that the excess skin can be easily removed using a spatula for a smooth result.

Anne Hathaway at Les Misérables premieres

Anne Hathaway was a standout at the world premiere of Les Misérables, the big-screen version of the musical based on Victor Hugo’s epic masterpiece. She plays tragic heroine Fantine alongside an all-star cast.

Photobucket

I watched the old version of Les Misérables when I was in high school for a project but I can't really remember much. I do however, got so excited for her role in the upcoming movie I can't wait to see it. Watching her red carpet style during the wait makes the waiting gets harder!

Photobucket

Photobucket

She looked amazing in this Givenchy Haute Couture dress during the London premiere. The asymmetrical draped sleeves provided a dramatic flare to the whole ensemble. The beads gave sparkly details to the otherwise plain length of the gown. The backless cut was sassy and seductive. She finished it off with a major bling on her forefinger. Nuff said.

Photobucket

Her dress yesterday at the New York premiere was another story. Take a look at this.

Photobucket

Photobucket

This is Tom Ford. The drama is all Tom Ford. The boots are certainly the most debatable. But it’s the cape-boot combination that lifts it beyond just another black dress. She really nailed this. She nailed this even more than the previous one. I'm loving the dominatrix vibe, especially the dark lip.

Givenchy Resort 2013 handbags

Photobucket

The Givenchy craze does not stop at Rottweilers. Their latest addition includes these paisley printed pieces that are extremely gorgeous on their own. Red, blue, and gold paisley prints from the Givenchy archives are covered with black-and-white squares have been transformed into four beautiful iconic bags. From mini Pandora (USD 1,575), medium Pandora (USD 2,340), Antigona tote (USD 980) and the Antigona clutch (USD 360), it's not wrong to think that you need to collect all four. Because I do too. Anyway, they also come in a t-shirt form that retails for a whooping USD 580.

That Givenchy Rottweiler tank

Photobucket

Photobucket

Convinced that I need to be a little more creative for an obligatory blog post wearing the infamous Givenchy Rottweiler tank. Just because every fashion blogger from around the world have posted theirs it's become so mainstream you could die, I chose to hide my face under the hat. Like my version?

Today I have another chance to collaborate with VDS Photography for a Christmas campaign for Poise24. Was having too much fun doing some Terry Richardson inspired shoot against a white wall while waiting for my model to finish her hair and makeup.

Louis Vuitton Lockit Jewelry

It’s hard to resist anything from French fashion house Louis Vuitton. Inspired by the padlocks on Louis Vuitton’s fall 2011 runway, Louis Vuitton Joaillerie has created just in time for the New Year the most romantic jewelry collection. These are the complete set in rose gold, which I think would be perfect for daily wear, or part of your stackable to-go accessories.

Photobucket

Called “Lockit” the new 15-piece fine jewelry collection, features necklaces, rings and bracelets in 18-karat white, rose and yellow gold, some with pavé diamonds.

This romantic collection is inspirited also by the legend of Pont des Arts Bridge in Paris, where couples attach a padlock to a bridge and throws the key into the water, for their love to be sealed forever.

H&M for Brick Lane Bikes

H&M's next big thing is their upcoming men’s capsule collection collaboration with Brick Lane Bikes of East London, combining the function of cycling wear with great city style for both on and off the bike. Did you see the movie Premium Rush? All I can relate to about cycling is that movie and pretty much how cool to watch Joseph Gordon-Levitt ride.

Photobucket

The 11 piece collection has been designed by H&M and tested and approved by Brick Lane Bikes, one of the world’s leading custom-bike specialists. Inspired by both vintage pieces and today’s sports performance, the collection is made from more sustainable materials as part of H&M’s Conscious work.

“We are thrilled to be making this collection with Brick Lane Bikes. Cycling is a global phenomenon, with so many men choosing to cycle both to commute and for pleasure. This men’s collection has all the utility and function riders need, combined with a great sense of style,” says Petter Klusell, designer at H&M. You can watch more in the video below.

I don't know how to bike, and I don't know much about Brick Lane Bikes. But I'm excited for this since my boyfriend is such a huge fan of the cycling phenomenon and finally there's a fashion angle to it for me to talk about. And to all the rest, looks like becoming fashionable on your fixie just got a whole lot easier. Anyway, the collection will be launched on 7th March 2013 in approximately 180 stores worldwide, as well as online.

Burgundy for Winter Holidays

From cocktail parties to family gatherings, the Christmas holidays offer plenty of occasions to dress to the nines. If you’re having some anxiety over what to wear to holiday events, relax and take a couple tips on how to feel confident in winter-wonderful attire.

Photobucket

The first rule of fashion is comfort. Every designer and stylist knows that someone who feels comfortable in an outfit will exude the confidence necessary to make the look a success. This rule applies to everyday style and holiday outfits alike. Fortunately, fall and winter fashions this year have a wide selection of warm and comfortable offerings to help everyone look their best.

This winter, deep burgundies feature at the top of the beauty trend and what-to-wear list. The color of cranberries and red wine has seldom been more popular and more season-appropriate. Every wardrobe item imaginable is available in this trendy color, from pea coats and winter boots to cocktail dresses and purses. Lucky for those attending holiday gatherings, this color simply sings “happy holidays,” and a woman decked out in holiday reds will look great as her rosy cheeks reflect the holiday cheer her outfit exudes.

Photobucket
Bodycon, long-sleeved tops in deep burgundy, like this 3.1 Phillip Lim shadow top looks great paired with black silk pants. Add a little holiday sparkle with a stack of metal bangles and a winter-inspired necklace; perhaps featuring latticed metalwork, rhinestones or other sparkly white jewels. No holiday outfit is complete without a great pair of shoes, so add a pair of metallic pumps or black patent-leather stacked heels to complete the look.

A peplum top paired with a short or knee-length skirt and opaque tights is sure to turn heads this holiday season. Again, burgundy is a top color choice, but women feeling a little bit bold might want to try a gold peplum bustier instead. Add large gold earrings and a gold cuff to complete the look. For shoes, consider these pumps from Christian Louboutin again or boots of any height. More important than any fashion tip is for each woman to feel comfortable in the clothing she wears. Wrapped luxuriously in the bold and rich colors of the season, every woman can step out in confidence. Now is the time to start turning heads, wherever your holiday plans take you.

Alexander Wang for Balenciaga

Photobucket

“Although we are an American brand, I think that is more to the sense of what is American sportswear, and things that feel very accessible and easy to wear,” Wang said in an interview earlier this year.

“But at the same time we really see our audience and our consumer as a global citizen, someone who isn’t defined by where they live or what kind of music they listen to, things like that. It’s a sensibility that is much more individual.”

Alexander Wang is Balenciaga's new creative director. The New York-based designer will replace Nicolas Ghesquière at the French fashion house, after 15 years at the helm. Totally unexpected. But definitely something overwhelming to look forward to. How would he incorporate his signature edgier, androgynous design aesthetic in Balenciaga? How will he transform the old Ghesquière era?

Jewelry trend: The ear cuff

Photobucket

Remember how Rodarte sent its models down the New York Fashion Week runway wearing matching dragon ear wraps? That's pretty much a heavy "medieval fantasy world” vibe going on with their metal dragon ear cuffs.

Photobucket

However, of course celebs and street stylers who may have taken a softer, more eclectic approach to this statement ear jewelry. Look at how Cara Delevigne looks surreal in a Chanel diamond ear cuff.

Photobucket

You can get one too, check out this Dorothy Perkins rhinestone vine ear cuff (at a steal, USD15) and this stunning ASOS Swarovski adorned piece.

I won't write about my clothing line and how it's been doing and all sorts of that. Instead, I've been dying to share this from another point of view.

Since the launch in July, I've received so many emails from readers to customers, asking me about how I became a fashion blogger and my decision to have my own clothing line in such a rush, right after I got my degree, while, I don't know how to sew and how to draw. It's such a great honor to be an inspiration for all the young girls out there chasing their dreams, especially, their fashion dream. I can't believe there were even a number of students who asked me to be subjects of their case study. I have never expected those.

I'm nowhere near my goal, but I just want to say, "take baby steps". As long as you believe in yourself you'll do fine. Start with something small. Don't wait until everything falls into place perfectly before you begin because it's not going to happen.

It was my first time styling a shoot with a real model and it was such a great experience. There are still more to come but I'd love to hear what you think.

Céline 'Edge' from Spring 2013

Photobucket

I love like the tough-luxe feel, I love the clean lines of it, but it doesn't seem very functional, maybe hard to open and close without putting it down on a table. What do you think? Is it unique enough to replace the Mini Luggage?

Photobucket

Kourtney Kardashian was photographed carrying it for a few times up until now, and here's a clear shot of the bag I'd like to share. For lunch with Khloe in Miami, she keeps it cool in a Max Fowles dress and Christian Louboutin python pumps. I think the bag looks huge on her. I'm still not sure if it comes in a smaller size.

Photobucket

According to tPF, the prices for the Edge are as follows:
Ponyhair and calfskin is 2,400 Euro
Python and calfskin is 2,800 Euro
Textured calfskin is 1,800 Euro

If you buy in Paris you will receive 12% back in VAT.
