Saw these on Balenciaga Facebook Page yesterday and it got me thinking. I don't know what's really happening in the whole hotel room-mess, and I wonder whether those models in the luxurious sportswear were intended to look tired and wasted after a late night to early morning run or what? Hint: look at their hair.
Let's just refer them as the cool kids. Honestly, I think the clothes don't quite stand out in this campaign. I mean, I'm in love with the Spring collection, but to me, the campaign images are kinda disappointing. I expected something more extravagant, I don't mind quirky, just not like this.
The third and fourth image is I think the most likable ones, since they don't display the super dirty room which would rather be unhygienic. I just went to far, no?
When you keep scrolling, a part of me believes that somewhere in your mind, you think the clothes look awful, the girl looks awful and this is just plain awful.
The folks at tfs argue whether Balenciaga really bothers doing campaigns, while they mostly rely on sales of the bags. Well, I don't know, but I'm quite sure the clothes would at least look amazing on editorials.

*shakes head* THIS is totally the "wannabe-creative-coolness" I don`t get!
ReplyDeleteIF this was a "scene of reality" I`d say they are "young creatives" on coke, awake since 3 days of working & partying.
Ok, I guess this is "contemporary" & supposed to be hip...
I`m the last woman on earth who wants to look pretty, feminine, clean and likes to brush her hair, right!?!
*SIGH*, Jen
i really like the tone and the clothes in this campaign but the models just doesn't seeem right.
