Oscar de la Renta Resort 2014
Oscar de la Renta is on top of my list. This resort collection is abundant with beautiful florals. Exquisite treatments were anything but garden variety, as the designer worked the colorful embroideries over tafetta fabric in bold palettes on chic separates and day dresses.
Burberry Prorsum Resort 2014
Burberry Prorsum did it again. Impeccable tailoring, modern translucent and bedazzled little details, embellished pencil skirts and timeless evening gowns with a surprise at the back totally won me over. It is such a breath of fresh air from Christopher with this more romantic look presented for Resort after seeing a series of shiny, bold colors and metallics from the previous seasons.
Christian Dior Resort 2014
Raf Simons challenged himself with using materials not so typical for him - such as lace, he combined it with bright colors on resort dresses using different panels and patterns of fabric to create a statement while staying true to Dior's traditional shapes and signature tailoring which he constantly reinvent.
DKNY Resort 2014
At DKNY, shiny materials like sequins are put together with sporty shapes. I guess we'll be seeing a lot of dresses with sheer details and sequin skirts with a slide slip over sporty sweaters and embellished sweatshirt tops on every high street retailers rack in a little while.
Clover Canyon Resort 2014
Clover Canyon features engineered prints inspired by Havana motifs stretched and wrapped on the simple shaped fabric surface to form a figure flattering patterns. My favorite is first two piece sweatshirt and pencil skirt combo and figure flattering dresses with a hand-drawn portrait of eccentric cigar-roller Mavis Toussaint Fuentes puffing away.
